Bunnyville Distillery showcases its dedication to exceptional whisky craftsmanship with the Oolong Tea Cask Finish—a unique expression that bridges Eastern tea culture with the rich heritage of single malt whisky. This extraordinary whisky achieves remarkable depth and complexity through a meticulous double-cask maturation process.

Following traditional Sherry Cask methods, we begin by selecting “premium” Oolong tea from Taiwan, renowned for its delicate floral aroma, smooth body, and lingering roasted notes. This tea is infused into a specially crafted Oolong tea liqueur, which ages in handpicked oak barrels. During aging, the tea liqueur imparts its rich tannins, honeyed sweetness, and subtle smokiness to the barrel, preparing it for the next stage.

After the casks have absorbed the Oolong tea liqueur essence, we transfer our carefully matured Bunnyville single malt whisky into these seasoned casks for a secondary finishing period. This double cask process allows the whisky to draw out the refined tea characteristics, creating an elegant balance of malt depth and tea complexity.

The whisky displays a golden amber hue, with aromas of ripe fruits, toffee, roasted nuts, and delicate oak intertwined with floral tea notes and hints of toasted leaves. On the palate, it presents a silky mouthfeel with layers of malty sweetness, Oolong tea's floral and woody undertones, and a subtle wisp of smoke. The finish lingers pleasantly, leaving a refined tea aftertaste with gentle oak warmth.
